2026 Election of Student Members to Academic Board
The Academic Board is the University’s principal academic governance body, established by Council under section 20 of the Monash University Act 2009. It is responsible for the maintenance of high standards in education and research, informing Council on academic matters, and supporting the University’s compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (Threshold Standards) 2021, particularly in academic governance. The Board also supports alignment with other legislative requirements that govern higher education in Australia and in overseas jurisdictions where Monash operates.

This is an opportunity to contribute to discussion at the University's principal academic body.
As an elected student member of Academic Board, you will bring a much-valued perspective to the deliberations at the Academic Board. This is your chance to put forward issues that require consideration, and support the quality of teaching and research and the reputation of Monash University.
Nominations are invited for:
- Monash University Australia (MUA) one undergraduate student member
- Monash University Australia (MUA) one coursework graduate student member
- Monash University Malaysia (MUM) one Monash Malaysia student member
Nominations open at 9.00am on Tuesday 15 September 2026 and close at 5.00pm on Thursday 24 September 2026. The term of office for these positions is two years, commencing 1 January 2027 and ending 31 December 2028.

Nomination and voting deadlines for this election are specified in Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST) or Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), as applicable, for students based at Monash University Australia, and Malaysia Time (MYT) for students based at Monash University Malaysia.
