Law Graduate Research Student Group
The Graduate Research Student Group in Law was established in 2001 to
- Discuss issues relevant to the research interests of graduate research students;
- Foster a collegiate spirit amongst graduate research students; and
- Represent the research interests of graduate research students in appropriate forums.
The Graduate Research Student Group is a student-led supportive network that meets regularly and organises social events. In addition to discussing issues affecting graduate research students, meetings may include a presentation by a graduate research student, a staff member or a visitor on a topic related to graduate research enrolment. Members of the HDR cohort are also welcome to attend staff morning teas that are hosted by the Faculty every six weeks.
HDR Student Representative(s)
This position sits on the Faculty’s Research Committee and advocates for HDR students in Law at both the Faculty and University levels. The HDR representative(s) facilitate connections among current students through informal communication channels.

OHS Committee
In addition to the HDR Student Representative, there is an additional role on the Faculty’s Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Committee. This role involves sharing relevant messages and information from the Committee and seeking feedback and input from the cohort on various issues as required.
The primary role of the Committee is to provide a consultative forum for discussing and resolving Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) and OHS matters. It ensures the implementation of controls designed to safeguard the health and safety of all staff and students, promotes a consistent approach to HSW/OHS across the Faculty, and ensures OHS responsibilities are met in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act Vic 2004 and University policies and procedures.

Join us for our informal virtual get-together, held every second Wednesday of the month! Open to all HDR community members, these events are organized by HDR representatives to keep both local and remote students connected and engaged.
