Law HDR Support Fund

The HDR (Higher Degree by Research) Support Fund is designed to assist eligible HDR students within the Faculty of Law by offering financial support for  research-related expenses that are essential for the successful completion of their thesis. Funding of up to $2500 is available throughout the length of candidature. This funding can be used for various research-related activities and resources that contribute directly to the student's research project.

Travel funds for study away

Students who are travelling interstate or overseas at any time during their studies must submit a Graduate research student travel (study away) application form. This should be submitted at least 6 weeks prior to your departure date. International travel must be accompanied by a Travel Plan.

Travel funding

To assist with the travelling expenses of study away, eligible confirmed doctoral and research masters students can receive a travel grant as a one-off payment. The Monash Graduate Research Office travel grant contribution is $1285.00 The Faculty provides co-funds up to a maximum of $1,960 depending on the location of travel. The Faculty amount will be deducted from the overall HDR support funds available to each eligible student.

Please complete the Study Away Form. Travel grant application is part of the Study Away Form.

Students must comply with the requirements under Staff & Student Travel Policy and Student Travel Procedure, in seeking approval for study away and undertaking any approved travels.

Reimbursements

To claim reimbursement for incurred expenses that were approved under the travel grant or HDR support schemes a reimbursement claim form should be submitted.
