PG Law electives for UG students 2026
Eligibility
- Only students in their final year of studies in the LLB (Hons) or Double degree can be eligible.
- Students must have achieved a minimum of 70% average in their Law studies.
Postgraduate Law units offered in 2026
- A maximum of two postgraduate law units may be undertaken.
- Fees will be as per the Bachelor of Laws (Honours) enrolled course.
- Successful completion of the unit/s will count towards your Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and can be credited towards a Monash University Master of Laws course (if undertaken within eight years).
- A maximum of three undergraduate students may enrol in any one postgraduate elective unit.
- Where a postgraduate unit has an equivalent available undergraduate unit in that academic year, students will not be permitted to complete the unit.
- Postgraduate units are offered in a variety of modes - intensive, semi-intensive or semester-long delivery. The 2026 postgraduate law timetable lists when you will need to be in class (note that lectures are not recorded).
- All postgraduate law units are conducted in person at 555 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, except where specified as 'Online' under the 'Mode of Delivery' on the timetable.
- Conflicting assessment dates will not be grounds for special consideration.

Application process
- Eligible students will be invited to apply via email prior to Semester 1 start date (and mid year only if places are available)
- The email will give detailed instructions on which units are offered and how to apply
- Places in units are assessed in the order of receipt of applications from eligible applicants. Your application must be submitted no later than the deadline specified in the invitation
- Before applying for the program, students should check the Handbook 2026 to see if there are any specific pre-requisites under Enrolment rule

Note:
Unit discontinuation and penalty dates are different from the rest of the University. The central university census dates are NOT used in the postgraduate programs. Please check individual unit discontinuation dates.
Students will need to ensure that the results release date of the unit is going to suit their course completion deadlines. Postgraduate units are offered according to many teaching calendars and therefore have varying results release dates.
