ACICIS Law Professional Practicum in Indonesia

ACICIS’ Law Professional Practicum Program is a six-week study program, usually undertaken in Jakarta prior to the commencement of the Australian academic calendar year (January – February).

The program, hosted by Atma Jaya University, consists of an initial two weeks of intensive Indonesian language instruction and English language lectures by local legal practitioners and experts in the field of law, followed by a four-week supervised practicum placement with a local or international legal firm, government authority or non-government organisation (NGO). The program is designed to cater for students with no existing Indonesian language skills. Candidates with existing language skills will, however, are welcome to apply. Eligibility Criteria

  • students must have completed 48 credit points of compulsory law study, equivalent one full year of law studies at time of application

Application Steps

    Step 1: Obtain Course Progression and Study Plan Check

    Contact your faculty/ies to request a course progression check to see if this unit fits into your course.

    Step 2: Complete the MAP application form

    Click the ‘Apply Now' button, complete all sections and submit your MAP application by the deadline listed in this brochure.

    Incomplete (pending) MAP applications will not be accepted after the deadline and you will not be permitted to participate in the program.

    Step 3: Apply for a place with ACICIS

    After your faculty has approved your study plan and you have submitted your MAP application, you should submit the ACICIS application directly to ACICIS.

    Step 4: Enrolment

    If you are accepted by the host, provide a copy of your program acceptance letter to your faculty so that you can be enrolled into the associated unit. Once enrolled, your faculty will change your MAP application status to 'Accepted and Enrolled by Faculty'. You will receive an email to your student account to confirm this status change.


  • Once ACICIS have assessed your application they will then notify you directly and also notify the Faculty to enrol you into your Law Study Abroad unit for credit into your course.
  • Student services will then confirm with you that you are enrolled.
