ACICIS Law Professional Practicum in Indonesia

ACICIS’ Law Professional Practicum Program is a six-week study program, usually undertaken in Jakarta at the end of the Australian academic calendar year (November to December). Note - this program is for UG students only.

The program, hosted by Atma Jaya University, consists of an initial two weeks of intensive Indonesian language instruction and English language lectures by local legal practitioners and experts in the field of law, followed by a four-week supervised practicum placement with a local or international legal firm, government authority or non-government organisation (NGO). The program is designed to cater for students with no existing Indonesian language skills. Candidates with existing language skills will, however, are welcome to apply. Qualification

Monash Law students can enrol in this program as one 6cp Law Study Abroad Unit.

Please note: Students will only receive credit for the language component of the program if they have room in the arts side of their degree if they are a double degree student or if they have 6cp non law elective space in the single law degree.

Application Steps

    Step 1: Complete the Monash Abroad application for ACICIS short term program

    The Faculty of Law will assess your application to the following eligibility criteria:

    • students must have completed or be enrolled in the remaining of the 48 credit points of compulsory law study required, equivalent one full year of law studies at the time of application
    • Have at least 60% Law WAM

    Once assessed you will be notified by email of the outcome and if you meet the requirements you can make an application with ACICIS as in Step 2.

    Step 2: Apply for a place with ACICIS

    After your faculty has approved your eligibility you can apply directly to directly to ACICIS.

    Step 3: Enrolment

  • Once ACICIS have assessed your application they will then notify you directly and also notify the Faculty to enrol you into your Law Study Abroad unit for credit into your course.
  • Student services will then confirm with you that you are enrolled.
