Food Experience on Death Row: The right to food and the right to life

The conditions of detention of prisoners under the sentence of death have been well-discussed in various platforms. Studies have highlighted conditions that severely impact the prisoners’ physical and mental health, such as solitary confinement. However, the food experiences of individuals on death row have not been adequately examined, despite food being a basic human need and an integral part of the daily prison experience.
The webinar will explore the content and contours of the right to food as applied to the death row context.
