About the Susan Campbell Oration
The Susan Campbell Oration is a series of public lectures hosted by Monash Law since 2014. It honours Susan Campbell AM, the first Professorial Fellow in legal practice at Monash University and a long‑standing leader of its Clinical Legal Education Program.
Each oration engages leading scholars to speak on the reach and impact of clinical programs and the role of experiential learning in legal education.
About Susan Campbell AM
Susan Campbell devoted over two decades to clinical legal education at Monash. She was known for her commitment to students, curriculum development, and social justice.
Her work shaped programs that continue to serve the Victorian community, including the Family Law Assistance Program, which supports people involved in contested family proceedings. She also contributed to reforms in legal training and was appointed a Member of the Order of Australia in 2007 for her service to the law and community legal services.
