Professor Kulkarni outline how borderline personality disorder would be more appropriately described as complex trauma disorder. Prof Kulkarni presented compelling data on the importance of severe early trauma and attachment disturbances in the history of patients with borderline personality disorder. These patients ideally need trauma informed care. Her clinic population has up to 65% prevalence of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS). Prof Kulkarni’s research team is currently investigating potential treatments including and those targeting glutamate overactivity.
