Consumer and Community Involvement Training: A Beginner’s Guide for Researchers and Health Professionals
Program Overview
Are you a healthcare professional, researcher, or policymaker working in health research? Learn evidence-based best practice approaches on how to engage with consumers and communities effectively and meaningfully in your work.
Facilitated by consumer and research experts in consumer and community involvement (CCI), you will learn about strategies for finding and involving consumers and engaging with them meaningfully and effectively. This short course is divided into two components: an online self-paced learning module and a half-day intensive and interactive workshop. Each element is crafted to provide a rich learning experience, employing best practices in pedagogy tailored to the needs of experienced professionals seeking to enhance your skills and knowledge in CCI.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this short course, you will
- Understand about the importance, principles and values of CCI for healthcare improvement and health research
- Identify best practice CCI and how to practically apply this in diverse settings and contexts
- Develop appropriate involvement methods and strategies when working with different stakeholders
- Develop effective leadership and collaboration skills to drive change and promote sustainable CCI
- Generate your own CCI plan for your research, work or context, harnessing your capability to adapt and practically implement plans for real-world impact
Note: Access to the online self-paced module will be provided one week before the workshop. Completion of the pre- and post-workshop self-check, which is accessible via the online module, is required to receive a course completion certificate.
