This course is designed as a self-paced learning experience, enabling you to build foundational capability in implementation science in a way that fits your schedule and professional commitments.

The content is organised into a series of modules that progressively build your understanding, from core principles through to applying implementation science in complex, real-world settings.

To maximise your learning, we encourage you to reflect on a current project, challenge or idea for change, consider how the concepts apply within your own context, and engage actively with the course activities and reflections.

Course structure

The course modules are grouped across three core areas:

Foundations of Implementation Science

Introduction to key concepts, principles and the role of implementation science in achieving meaningful and sustained change.

Models, Theories and Frameworks

Overview of commonly used implementation science frameworks and how they can be applied to guide planning, implementation and evaluation.

Driving Change in Complex Settings

Exploration of how change occurs in real-world systems, including the role of context, leadership and stakeholder engagement.

Driving Change has been developed by implementation science experts from the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI). Drawing on internationally recognised expertise in implementation science, healthcare improvement and research translation, the course provides practical, evidence-based learning to help participants translate evidence into sustainable practice.

Professor Helena Teede

Professor Helena Teede is Director of the Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Monash University. An internationally recognised clinician, researcher and implementation scientist, she has led the development and implementation of national and international evidence-based guidelines and health system improvement initiatives, with a strong focus on translating evidence into better health outcomes.

Dr Nicole Pope

Dr Nicole Pope

Dr Nicole Pope is an accredited Implementation Support Practitioner, researcher and educator with expertise in implementation science, healthcare improvement and learning health systems. She leads implementation capability programs at MCHRI and has extensive experience supporting clinicians, researchers and health services to apply implementation science in real-world practice.
