Invent Program Overview

MIME Invent Program

The MIME Invent Program supports the development of new medical technologies that address significant unmet clinical needs. We work in partnership with clinicians, healthcare workers and administrators, and researchers in fields of IT/digital health, engineering and human-centred design to develop new medical technologies to solve these unmet healthcare needs.

MIME’s new Invent Program is strategically designed to provide guidance and education to our network of collaborators. Translation of unmet needs towards commercialisation to ultimately solve those needs is complex, and there are well validated methods that can and need to be learned to do so.

Accordingly, while MIME continues to offer funding support as part of our program, we are now so much more. In parallel to access to Invent Research Support funding, our Invent Program aims to build capability and a culture of innovation in MIME’s alumni and members through contributing to understand how to translate ideas into real-world solutions, both through participating in our funding application process, as well as engaging with our suite of learning and development resources which are guided to help understand the MedTech commercialisation pathway.

These enabling mechanisms are our clinical and research partners' pathway to unlocking the knowledge to meaningfully secure external investment from industry, philanthropy and/or competitive grants to progress to the next phases of R&D.
