Non-invasive sperm motility boost
Project overview
48M | 186M |
48 million couples globally live with infertility | 186 million individuals globally live with infertility |
Monash IVF has pioneered IVF for over 50 years with the first human IVF pregnancy in 1973. Now Monash has a new breakthrough in infertility.
30% of infertility is due to the inability of sperm to swim through the woman’s reproductive tract.
New research has discovered just 20 seconds of ultrasound waves can boost the ability of sperm to swim by up to 266%.
Even a 10% increase in sperm swimability leads to an increase of 8% in pregnancy rate.
The ultrasound technique has tremendous potential to boost pregnancy success rates in even the most challenging cases, offering new hope for families around the world struggling to conceive.
