The Monash Crime Fiction Project aims to promote the study and creative practice of the genre in Melbourne, in Australia and also internationally. Based in the Faculty of Arts, the project brings together scholars working in the fields of:
- Specific national traditions (British-American, Cuban, French, Indonesian, Italian, Malay, Spanish and Catalan crime fiction)
- Comparative and World crime fiction
- Law and/in literature
- Creative practice
- Genre theory.
The Project aims to foster innovative and creative collaborations between scholars and Australian and international crime writers through workshops, roundtable discussions, seminars, symposia, conferences and interviews.
