Multi-factor authentication (MFA) privacy and security

Okta Verify doesn’t access any data stored on your smartphone. All location information is provided by your internet provider.

Don’t recognise login activity?

Whenever you use Okta Verify to log into a new device or browser, you’ll receive a notification from Okta Verify or an email from Monash. If you don’t recognise the login activity, you should contact your local Service Desk immediately. We also recommend that you change your password.

Notification from another state or country?

An Okta Verify notification indicates your approximate location, but if it says you’ve logged in from another state or country, you should contact your local Service Desk immediately. If you’re using an Android smartphone in China, you may not receive Okta Verify notifications.
