Access Monash TV

Monash TV is a free service providing staff and students access to a range of free-to-air television stations, while connected to the Monash network.

This TV streaming access is not available through wireless so you need to have an ethernet cable connection.

You need to stream using the VLC media player to access Monash TV. If you don't have VLC, follow these instructions to set it up.

  1. Download the VLC media player.
  2. Open VLC media player.
  3. Click on Settings, to view Preferences.
  4. Click the Show All button in the bottom left.
  5. From the list in the left panel, click the drop down arrow for Playlist.
  6. Select Services discovery > SAP.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Close VLC media player.
  1. Open the VLC media player.
  2. From the list in the left panel, under the LOCAL NETWORK section, click Network streams (SAP).
  3. In the main part of the screen, click the drop down arrow for MonashTV.
  4. You’ll now see a list of channels. Simply double click on a channel to start streaming.
