Education and Training
Technology is changing the way that legal services are delivered and how legal disputes are resolved. The Future Courts Research Platform provides a unique environment for training and education, especially for experts, litigators, prosecutors and judicial officers.
Many legal actions involve “high stakes”, complex issues and large amounts of data. Court simulations and mock trials are an efficient and cost-effective way to test and evaluate legal arguments, presentation of evidence, and case strategies and tactics to maximise client outcomes.
Robotics Conference
What happens when a robot causes damage or harm to a person? Who is held responsible for its actions? What are the ethical concerns around using robots in human spaces, such as hospitals?
The purpose of this workshop was to demonstrate the design considerations, ethical challenges, legal repercussions and consequences of robots used in community settings, such as in a hospital. Workshop participants witnessed an adaptation of a mock legal dispute which culminates in a court trial.

Expert Witness Training
This project is a collaboration involving the schools of medicine, nursing and health sciences. The key aim of the project is to provide staff and students from non-legal faculties with the necessary skills and knowledge that subject matter experts need when called upon to deliver their expert opinions in a range of judicial environments.
