Welcome to Monash Law
Orientation marks the official start to the semester for new students. It is designed to help you settle into university and prepare you for the start of classes. Take the opportunity to find out about the different teaching and learning processes of the university, familiarise yourself with your new surroundings, learn more about your course and get to know the Faculty of Law and other new students.
Information for new:
Undergraduate students
Orientation week (O-Week) marks the official start to the semester. The Faculty of Law organises a series of activities to help law undergraduates settle into university life. You can find more information about Monash Law O-Week here.
Juris Doctor students
You are required to attend the orientation session held at the Monash Law Chambers located at 555 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne. Details of the orientation sessions are as follows:
These orientation dates are tentative, confirmed dates and times will be sent out to JD students approximately a month before the start of each intake.
Trimester one 2026: Tuesday, 16 December 2025
Trimester two 2026: Wednesday, 29 April 2026
Trimester three 2026: TBA
Students who have accepted their offer will receive an invitation to attend the orientation session.
Postgraduate students
You will be notified by the Postgraduate Law Student Services Office whether you need to attend an orientation session.
