The Leo and Mina Fink Story

‘whoever saves a life is considered to have saved an entire world’

This website is part of a major research project that aims to document and record the extraordinary achievements of husband and wife Leo and Mina Fink, transformative Jewish community leaders who lived their lives in the service of others. Using records held by Jewish Care, the National Council of Jewish Women, the Jewish Holocaust Centre in Melbourne, the University of Melbourne and the Australian Jewish Historical Society, as well as the Fink family’s collection of correspondence, documents, memorabilia and photographs, this website presents a chronological archive of significant events that shaped their lives. Generously supported by the Leo and Mina Fink Fund, this project is led by Dr Margaret Taft and is undertaken within the Australian Centre for Jewish Civilisation at Monash University.
