In 2016, Monash University announced its commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals through all operations, education and research. Monash (through MSDI) is also the regional hub for the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network and Sustainable Development is a focus of the Monash Research Agenda. Here at MSDI, the Sustainable Development Goals are the guiding framework for all our work.

What is sustainable development?
Meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs also. Sustainable development conceives of a world where our prosperity doesn’t cost us the Earth.
