Professor Bellamy graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of New Zealand (1957) and a PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Sydney (1960). Early careerProfessor Bellamy worked for Ferranti Ltd in Melbourne and London, 1961-62. Monash careerProfessor Bellamy began his career at Monash University as a senior lecturer in mathematics in 1963. From 1964-1990 he was director of the Computer Centre, and was appointed to professorial status in 1970. In 1990 Professor Bellamy was appointed founding dean of the newly established Faculty of Computing and Information Technology. He retired in 1996.
