Retention and Disposal Authority

The Retention and Disposal Authority is arranged as follows:

  • Functions - the broadest unit of business performed within the University
  • Activities - major tasks or areas of service undertaken with the each function
  • Title - brief title of the records covered by the disposal class
  • Description - description of the records covered by the disposal class
  • Disposal Action - the disposal action to be taken for the records
  • PROV Reference - the Public Record Office Victoria retention and disposal authority reference number

Personal information must be retained and and disposed of in accordance with this Retention and Disposal Authority. Temporary records that contain personal information must be destroyed as soon as possible after their stated retention period in the RDA. This ensures that the University meets its obligations under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 (Vic).
