Making STEM real: Entrepreneurship in schools
STEMinar Series 2019
Monash Education
Description
The Global Innovation Index (GII) ranks Australia 20th for innovation. Yet in the conversion of innovative ideas into applications, Australia ranks well behind at 76th. As part of National Science Week, join us for a night where we bridge the gap in innovation and its application by bringing entrepreneurship and STEM skills together.
In an increasingly technological world, entrepreneurs will need STEM skills to be competitive at the global scale. Introducing entrepreneurial skills in schools of all levels, through STEM, can support the development of innovative dispositions and capabilities. This STEMinar showcases two examples of enterprise programs in schools and considers the logistics and practicalities of facilitating such programs within a school context.
