What to Bring
This may be your first time living out of home, and you may be unsure of what to bring.
Below are some suggestions of things you may need. If you feel like you are missing some essential items, there will be plenty of opportunities to shop during the Residential Orientation Program.
Kitchen & cooking
- Cutlery (forks, knives, spoons)
- Sharp knife & chopping board
- Crockery (plates, bowls, cups & mugs)
- Microwave-safe containers
- Pots & pans
Most kitchens have induction cooktops, which require specific cookware, such as cast iron or stainless steel (not aluminium). - Cooking trays
- Utensils (can/bottle opener, peeler, tongs, grater, wooden spoon, egg flipper, measuring cups/spoons, masher etc.)
- Reusable containers
- Sponge/dishcloth and washing-up detergent
- Tea towels
Linen & Bedding
- Sheets, blankets, a mattress protector, pillows, and towels
Most rooms have a king single bed, and king single linen is recommended. - Linen packs can be pre-ordered through our supplier at www.unipacks.com.au. Your pack will be delivered to the Monash University Accommodation office and ready for collection when you arrive.
