Opening Semester two, 2027

A new place to call home is coming to the Clayton campus.

Opening in Semester two, 2027, Larkins Hall will be the newest on-campus accommodation option offering modern, sustainable accommodation designed to support connection, community and student life.

Located within the Clayton Residential Village, Larkins Hall will provide 252 single occupancy rooms, together with a range of shared spaces where residents can study, relax and connect.

Mobility-accessible units, and units designed for hearing and speech-impaired students will also be available.

Communal kitchens, dining areas and lounges will be located on every floor, providing plenty of opportunities to meet your neighbours and be part of the residential community.
The ground floor will be the hub for the residential community and will include:

- Parcel lockers

Larkins Hall will welcome a combination of returning Monash University Accommodation residents and new residents when it opens in Semester two, 2027.

The process for applying for Larkins Hall will depend on whether you're already living with Monash University Accommodation in 2026/2027 or are applying to live on campus for the first time in Semester two, 2027.

If you're a resident in 2026 and continue living with us in Semester one, 2027, you will have the opportunity to express your interest in transferring to Larkins Hall for Semester two.
1. Clayton Halls of Residence residents Residents who lived in the Clayton Halls of Residence during 2026 and continue to live there in Semester one, 2027 will be given the first opportunity to express their interest.
2. Other returning residents Other Monash University Accommodation residents who lived on campus in 2026 and continue to live on campus in Semester one, 2027 will then be given the opportunity to express their interest.
You don't need to do anything yet – expressions of interest are not currently open.
We'll contact eligible residents directly by email about how to express their interest in early 2027, with the expression of interest process expected to begin in February 2027.
If you're looking to join the Monash University Accommodation community in Semester two, 2027, you'll be able to apply for Larkins Hall through the online, Semester two accommodation application process, which opens at 9am, 1 March 2027.

Both. Larkins Hall’s 252 rooms will be split between returning residents and incoming new residents to create a dynamic, well-rounded student community.
Eligible residents who lived on-campus in 2026 and continue living with us in semester one, 2027, will have the opportunity to express their interest in transferring to Larkins Hall for Semester two.
Residents who lived in the Clayton Halls of Residence during 2026 and continue to live there in Semester 1, 2027 will be given the first opportunity to express their interest.
We'll contact eligible residents directly by email about how to express their interest in early 2027, with the expression of interest process expected to begin in February 2027.
If you're not successful in your expression of interest to move to Larkins Hall for Semester two, you can apply for Larkins Hall for 2028 when applications open at 9am on 1 September 2027.
First priority will be given to Clayton Halls of Residence residents due to Larkins Hall's location. All other returning Monash University Accommodation residents will receive second priority to express interest before applications open to new residents.
No. Approved residents transferring to Larkins Hall for Semester two, 2027 will not be charged the standard $150.00 room transfer fee. Additionally, upon commencing your new Residency Agreement and occupying your room at Larkins Hall, your liability for rental fees associated with your vacated room will cease.
The expression of interest process for eligible returning residents is expected to take place in February 2027 and will be assessed on the date of submission

Yes. Students attending Monash University on an approved Monash Abroad or exchange program in Semester two, 2027 are eligible to apply for accommodation at Larkins Hall. Applications will open online at 9am 1 March 2027.
