GUIDELINES FOR BURSARY FUNDING

  • Funding is exclusively for performance research projects and must lead to public performance publication outcomes.
  • This funding is designed to support the final performance outcome of Honours and Postgraduate projects. Preference will be given to applicants who have not received funding in previous rounds.
  • For PhD and Masters students the MPAC Bursary can only be awarded to applicants who have completed their confirmation milestone.
  • Normally students can apply only once, but exceptional circumstances may be considered.
  • Each application should include an outline of the project detailing research and performance outcomes.
  • Projects and public performance outcomes may take place at Monash or off-campus/externally. External collaborations which highlight the role of the Monash Performing Arts Centres (MPAC) in the broader community are an important aspect of the funding brief. Note that all projects off-campus should include public liability insurance as a budget item.
  • In submitting the application, Honours and Postgraduate students undertake to publicise their involvement of MPAC in all relevant production material whether on- or off-campus.
  • Monash students may not pay themselves salaries or fees for their project.
  • A detailed budget must be provided on the attached form.
  • Budget items for which MPAC bursary funds are requested should be carefully considered in respect of the research inquiry constituted by the performance project. Funds are for public performance research outcomes, not merely ‘putting on a show’.
  • The SZCSoMP Executive Committee seek to ensure proportional representation by discipline.
  • All applications must be approved by a full meeting of the SZCSoMP Executive Committee.
