Music Travel Bursary
Specific objectives
This scheme supports international and national travel to engage in extra-curricular performance/creative projects and artist development opportunities. Examples of supported activities include participation in masterclasses, summer schools, festivals, performances, conferences and workshops. This call is for projects taking place between June 2026 – July 2027.
Eligibility
Undergraduate and Honours students currently enrolled in the Sir Zelman Cowen School of Music.
Funding
Up to $2,000
Selection criteria
- The activity must be extra-curricular and relate to your artistic development.
- The travel must take place between June 2026 and July 2027.
- The activity must be supported by your Stream Convenor (CMT, Popular Music, Jazz & Improvisation) or Instrumental Coordinator (Classical).
- A brief budget should be supplied, outlining quotes for fares, hotels and registration costs as applicable.
What will be funded
The following items will be funded under this Scheme:
What will not be funded
- Airfares
- Ground transportation outside Melbourne
- Accommodation (up to $200 per night and no more than 5 nights)
- Registration fees (eg. masterclasses, summer schools etc.)
What will not be funded
The following will not be funded under this Scheme:
- Per diems
- Airport transfers in Melbourne
- Artist fees
- Instrument or equipment purchase or hire

Fill in and submit this form by Friday 3 April. Outcomes will be communicated by Friday 10 April.
