How we teach

Each unit in the Master of Indigenous Business Leadership (MoIBL) is delivered in an intensive one week study block (6 days). This program is a group-based, fully immersive learning experience requiring participants to commit to making themselves available for the entire duration of each study block in order to fully engage with both program content, cultural ceremony and practices, and their peers.

The program’s Indigenous pedagogy aims to assist participants with their professional and educational development in a way that minimises disruption to work and family commitments.

There is, therefore, an expectation that students will make study a priority over other competing commitments during the intensive study block week. Study block dates are issued in advance to assist with planning.

Immersive learning experiences

As part of the MoIBL program, each class of students also gets the opportunity to learn from Canadian First Peoples through an 20-day immersive study tour in Canada. The study tour is conducted in collaboration with the University of British Columbia, University of Victoria, University of Alberta, University of Manitoba, and Simon Fraser University.
