Makerspace Project Studios
The Makerspace Project Studios is a state-of-the-art fabrication facility and prototyping centre with deep-rooted links to local industry. Sprawling over more than a thousand square metres, Makerspace is the home of the Monash Student Teams Initiative and houses team workspaces for six of our Engineering Student Teams, centred around a suite of specialised manufacturing areas.
Access
- Access to the Project Studios is limited to current members of Monash Engineering Student Teams & Clubs.
- The general area induction consists of video and quiz, followed up by an in person space tour.
- To arrange an induction ask your team management or Makerspace staff.

CNC Machining Bay
Use cutting, grinding and drilling equipment to shape and create objects from various metals.
Manual Machining Bay
The place for turning, milling, drilling and measurement of precision components.
Electrical Bay
A dedicated bay for the soldering, assembly and testing of low voltage electrical projects.
Light Fabrication Bay
A light manufacturing and general assembly area for student projects with hand tools, battery power tools and drilling machines.
Composites Manufacturing Bay
Use high performance composite materials and resins to create light, stiff and strong parts.
Cutting and Grinding Bay
Use cutting, grinding and drilling equipment to shape and create objects from various metals
Welding Bay
A dedicated welding area for developing practical skills and learning the art of welding in a supportive environment.
Precious Plastics Monash
Home to the Monash chapter of the Precious Plastics recycling initiative, a student team working to provide solutions to the ever growing presence of plastic pollution.
Monash Human Power
Home of Monash Human Power (MHP), a student team exploring the boundaries of people powered propulsion.
Monash Nova Rover
The home of Monash Nova Rover (MNR), a student team developing rovers that can navigate, locate, retrieve and test scientific samples in a simulated Mars environment.
