Back up or transfer your smartphone data

Regularly backing up your smartphone helps protect your information. If your device is ever replaced, lost or damaged, you'll have a recent copy of your data to restore from backup, and the Service Desk will be able to get you back on track.

Backup your iPhone

You can use iCloud to back up your iPhone, or you can connect it to your computer and create a backup using iTunes.

For instructions, visit how to back up your iPhone (Apple support).

Restore an iCloud or iTunes backup

If your iPhone has been lost, stolen or erased, you can restore your last backup. For step-by-step instructions, see restore your iPhone from a backup (Apple support).

Create or restore a backup of your Android phone

How you backup your Android will depend on the brand of phone you use.

If you’ve got a Samsung phone, visit the Samsung support page on how to backup and restore data on a Galaxy device.

If you’ve got a Pixel, follow the steps to backup or restore data on your Pixel device (Google Help Centre).

For other Android brands, you should be able to find instructions on their website or in the manual that came with your phone.
