Asian Australian Lawyers Association

The Australian Lawyers Association (AALA) seeks to promote cultural diversity in the law.
Daniel has a broad practice in personal injury, commercial and property matters.
Daniel was previously the Class Actions Coordinator at the Supreme Court of Victoria. He worked with the Hon. Jack Forrest QC in the 2009 Black Saturday bushfire proceedings and other judges in a number of class actions.
Daniel began his legal career as Associate to the Hon. Tony Pagone QC, who was then head of the Commercial Court at the Supreme Court. He completed his legal internship at criminal defence firm Galbally Rolfe.
Daniel read with his Honour Coroner Simon McGregor and his senior mentor is Justice Andrew Keogh.
John signed the Bar Roll in 2014. He has a broad commercial and common law practice with a particular interest in professional negligence matters.
John is also a Nationally Accredited Mediator and accepts briefs to mediate commercial disputes.
John was admitted to practice in 2009. Prior to coming to the Bar, John was a lawyer at Allens Arthur Robinson (now Allens) where he worked primarily on professional negligence, product liability and Corporations Act matters.
John was also Associate to the Honourable Justice Macaulay at the Supreme Court of Victoria. As Associate, John assisted his Honour in a wide range of areas including common law, commercial, probate and criminal law. John also assisted his Honour in establishing the Professional Liability List in the Supreme Court of Victoria.
John is an author for the Victorian Courts civil procedure commentary published by Thomson Reuters. John graduated from the University of Melbourne with bachelors degrees in Laws (Hons) and Arts. He read with Dr Andrew Hanak.
Kerry Truong is the Victoria Branch Secretary of the Asian Australian Lawyers Association and is passionate about promoting awareness and discussion of the need for culturally inclusive practice in the Australian legal profession.
Kerry is also a solicitor with McManus & Co Lawyers in the western suburbs, having started her legal career more than ten years ago. She practices in family law, property law and succession law including intestacy, wills and testators family maintenance. She has been successful in raising awareness amongst the Chinese community of the necessity of making wills and enduring powers of attorney to safeguard their interests and assets.
