Audio-Visual Material available on YouTube
The Monash University Archives are excited to announce that some of our audio-visual collection is now publicly available online. We have been working hard to get material digitised from film reels, audio reels, audio-cassette tapes, and other analogue formats and to upload it to YouTube for all to watch and enjoy.
All content currently available can be found on our YouTube channel. This will continue to have material added, so make sure to subscribe to be notified of when new material is made publicly available. A selection of material can also be found here.
Highlights so far include:
Footage of the Clayton campus in 1958 before construction began
Footage of various opening ceremonies, including the opening of the University in 1961, the Menzies Building in 1963, and various buildings at Caulfield Institute of Technology
Adorable zoology footage of animals (including a baby wombat!)
The inaugural meeting of the Interim Council in June 1958
Louis Matheson’s farewell in 1975
