Beacon® Optofluidic System
The Beacon® Optofluidic System located in MADP is configured for antibody discovery. Using the Opto™ Plasma B discovery workflow, single cells are loaded into wells of an Optoselect chip and then assayed for hits. Cells that give a positive signal are either exported into a 96-well plate for mRNA extraction or have mRNA capture beads added and undergo on-chip cell lysis. From here cDNA is generated by reverse transcription and heavy and light chains are sequenced. This whole process takes only days.
Phage Antibody Library
Development of antibody phage display libraries represents an alternative technique to the traditional hybridoma technology. The Monash in house MOptiFAB phage library is a synthetic library designed to have high diversity and functionality. Fully human antibodies can be isolated with only a few rounds of panning.

iQue3 Screener
The iQue3 screener from Sartorius is a high-throughput flow cytometer with blue, red and violet lasers. Samples are collected in a continuous flow, in an air-gap delimited stream, so an entire plate of data can be processed at one time. The time to run a plate is reduced to as few as 5 minutes for 96 well plates or 20 minutes for 384 well plates.
