In her role as Chief of Staff, Fiona Bygraves collaborates with and brings together a diverse range of stakeholders, driving decision-making processes and ensuring that the portfolio’s initiatives stay on track and align with the overarching strategic goals of the wider portfolio.
Prior to commencing with the Finance portfolio in 2024, Fiona worked in the University’s Faculty of Law, where she held the role of General Manager from August 2019. During her time at Monash Law, she led the redesign and delivery of a new strategic plan and reporting framework and improved organisational governance and reporting.
Before her career at Monash University, Fiona undertook a wide variety of leadership roles at Swinburne University, primarily in STEM-based faculties, as their most senior professional staff member. Fiona has held a number of board positions across the not-for-profit sector and volunteer roles with community groups.
Fiona holds a Graduate Diploma of Education (Science) and a Master of Business (Human Resource Management) and is a graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
