Monash graduates in Singapore recently joined more than 700 alumni of Australian universities celebrating the 60th anniversary of Australian Alumni Singapore.
The Australian Alumni Singapore (AAS) is the national umbrella organisation for the more than 130,000 Singaporean graduates of Australian universities.

AAS aims to create alliances that enhance professional and leadership opportunities for Australian alumni from different Australian tertiary and professional institutions in Singapore.

Monash University’s Executive Director, External Engagement, Development and Alumni, Damien Farrell and Acting Director, Alumni Engagement, Mario Martello attended the celebration.

“Monash has very engaged and enthusiastic alumni in Singapore who speak fondly of the time they studied in Australia,” Mr Farrell said.

“It was wonderful to have the opportunity to not only celebrate the 60th anniversary of the AAS but also meet with these graduates and talk to them about their experiences. It was also amazing to be able to connect current and past Colombo Plan scholars to allow them to share their student study experiences.”

The visit to Singapore also provided the opportunity to meet with alumni to discuss the creation of a Global Leaders’ Network in country to support Monash alumni and student leadership development programs.
