In October, the second year of our Alumni Outreach Campaign came to a close with more alumni than ever before contributing to student scholarships, Monash research and our libraries.

Alumni were contacted by an enthusiastic team of current Monash students to share news, hear their views and seek donations for key University initiatives.

Our student callers had conversations with nearly 30,000 alumni across the campaign which ran from March until October. Nearly 4000 alumni from Australia, Malaysia, the USA, and India participated in the campaign.

More that $260,000 was raised with 82 per cent of gifts made to equity scholarships for disadvantaged students.

These scholarships improve the educational experience for students by allowing them to focus on their studies. Recipients use the funds to address daily expenses, such as paying the rent and buying textbooks. These and other vital issues can distract students from study, disrupt attendance and prevent them from achieving their full potential.

“On behalf of the University I thank our graduates for their continued support of our vision,” Executive Director, External Engagement, Development and Alumni, Mr Damien Farrell said.

Next year’s campaign will commence in March.
