Climate Notes
Climate Notes
Originally devised by Anna McMichael (lead CI) and in collaboration with Louise Devenish, Climate Notes is a multimedia installation and performance work building on Joe Duggan’s Is This How You Feel collections of handwritten letters by leading international science researchers, and plant archives from the State Botanical Collection of Victoria. Climate Notes features six new musical works by Australian composers exploring the emotional impacts of climate change, and propels us to consider what it feels like to live through a time when climate change affects every aspect of our lives. The project will premiere at the Royal Botanic Gardens of Victoria, including live performances and an installation, which features new music, video works, recycled foliage displays from the Botanic Gardens, and an interactive letter-writing station for people to write their own ‘climate note’ to explore and communicate our personal experience and feelings surrounding climate change and what we are/aren’t doing about it.
