Trend-following strategies for crypto investors

Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin and Ether have taken the investment world by storm, with their potential to generate exponential returns. However, to avoid the risk of substantial losses, investors should approach this volatile market with caution and implement comprehensive investment and risk-management strategies. In this study, we find that trend-following strategies with shorter lookback periods are effective in generating a high Sharpe ratio; however, transaction costs may decrease profits due to frequent portfolio rebalancing. As the cryptocurrency market continues to change, it is vital to remain informed and adaptable to maximize returns while minimizing risks.
