Adoption of international standards in modern slavery statements
Partnership with Australian Anti-Slavery Commission investigating adoption of international standards in modern slavery statements
The Monash Centre for Financial Studies in May 2026 signed a Memorandum of Understanding and research collaboration agreement with the Australian Anti-Slavery Commission's Office.
Under the MOU and agreement, the MSFS will examine references to the UNGPs and OECD standards in modern slavery statements and , based on their disclosures, assess whether companies are adopting these international standards in their due diligence.
These insights will help the OAASC promote industry best practices and strengthen Australia's modern slavery legislation.
