This scholarship was established by the family of Professor Donald Cochrane in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the field of economics and his role as Founding Dean of the original Faculty of Economics and Politics at Monash University. Professor Cochrane held office from 1961 until his retirement in 1981. The Donald Cochrane Library Collection on the Monash Caulfield Campus is a testament to his pioneering work and strong academic leadership.
This prestigious scholarship is awarded every year to an outstanding graduate research scholar to support their pursuit of a full-time PhD program in the Monash Business School.

These prestigious awards are offered to the Monash Business School’s most outstanding domestic and international scholars. They provide a ‘top up’ payment to excellent students who hold a Research Training Program (RTP) or Monash Graduate Scholarship.

Emeritus Professor Joe Isaac has long been one of Australia's most distinguished scholars and practitioners in the field of industrial relations. He has made very significant contributions to the fields of economics, industrial relations policy and practice, dispute settlement, and social and economic development.
Golda was a well-known botanist who also worked at Monash and was made a lifelong member of the Friends of Botanical Gardens for her lifelong work. Professor Isaac and his late wife Golda had been long-standing supporters of the Business School and Professor Isaac continues to be a much-valued member of our community.

CHE offers an annual research scholarship to PhD candidates enrolled at the Centre with a research topic in mental health or health economics in developing economies.
Total value of the scholarship is a one-off payment of $1500 towards research expenses, including travel. One such scholarship is offered each year. Selection is based on merit, assessed by the PhD Coordinator and the Director of the Centre, or a nominee.

The Human-in-the-Loop Analytics (HiLA) Graduate Research Industry Partnership (GRIP) is an interdisciplinary collaboration between world experts and PhD students from Monash University, sponsored by an industry partner. The PhD projects span data analysis, artificial intelligence, social informatics, psychology, human-computer interaction and data visualisation. Industry partners receive access to breakthrough research to support their business objectives.
