Access the S:Drive on a Windows 11 PC

Before trying to access the shared drive, make sure you have access permission from the folder's owner. If you don't know who this is, please contact the Service Desk.

  1. If you're not on-campus make sure you’re connected to the Monash VPN.
  2. Open File Explorer and select This PC.
  3. Select the menu icon (⋯), then click Map network drive.

  4. In the Drive field, select the drive letter you want to use (S:\) for the network folder.
  5. In the Folder field, type \\ad.monash.edu\shared\.
  6. Tick Reconnect at sign-in and Connect using different credentials.
  7. Click Finish.

  8. When asked, enter your username as MONASH\username and password.
Tick Remember my credentials to reconnect to the folder every time you sign in so it's always available to you.

  9. Click OK to finish.

When you're done, you should see S:Drive under This PC and be able to access its contents like you would any other folder.

If you want to disconnect the network drive, right-click on it and select Disconnect.
