Facilities

Our facilities and studio workshops feature specialised tools and industry-standard equipment and materials, including a robotic manufacturing studio, 3D printing and traditional bronze foundry. We are the only school in Australia to offer hands-on automotive clay modelling. In addition, students also have access to an extensive library of art, design, and architecture books and resources and wireless networking across campus.

LASER LAB

Our Laser Lab features a 3D plaster printer, laser cutting facilities and CNC router cutting, to take your designs from computer to 3D printer to finished product.

ROBOTIC MANUFACTURING

A Robotic Manufacturing Studio a cutting-edge KUKA robot to create start-to-finish projects, from writing the software to programming to producing complete products.

DIGITAL AND LARGE FORMAT PRINTING

A professional four-colour printer lets you produce large works on a variety of mediums, including vinyl, paper and canvas.

GLASS STUDIO

Featuring a newly rebuilt glass furnace for glass blowing, glazing, and open mould and lost wax casting.

MADA white sculptures

SCULPTURE STUDIOS

MADA’s Sculpture Studios encompass several workshops across campus. The wet workshops allow for working with plaster, clay, concrete and wax to make moulds, castings and models.

METAL CASTING AND JEWELLERY STUDIO

Featuring a melting furnace and the necessary tools for creating small items in copper, brass and silver, and includes a metal furnace and the necessary tools for shaping, lost wax casting, burnishing and polishing.

PHOTOGRAPHY LAB

A fully equipped lab featuring a darkroom, digital SLR and medium format cameras, video cameras and lighting equipment and microphones.

PRINTMAKING

The Printmaking facilities give you opportunity to experiment with all forms of printing, including etching and photographic processes, lithography, relief printing, monotypes and screen printing.

AUTOMOTIVE CLAY MODELLING

An industry-specific facility provided by Holden and the Partners for the Advancement of Collaborative Engineering Education (PACE).
