Inclusion: Explained
Big ideas in small videos.
The “explainer video” has become a popular form of communication design due to its ability to expressively communicate complex information that can be understood quickly and easily disseminated. They often combine image, text, infographics and audio to translate information from diverse areas including science, economics, health or social justice issues. The format is ideal for distribution via social media networks.
Bachelor of Design students undertaking a second or third year animation elective are presented with a brief from their “client” Respectful Communities to develop an explainer video on a particular equity, diversity and inclusion topic.
In response to the brief, here is a selection of videos the students created.

Sexual health refers to our physical, emotional, mental and social wellbeing as it relates to sexuality. Good sexual health means having a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships, being able to have pleasurable and safe sexual experiences that are free of coercion, discrimination and violence, and (when it feels right for you) having safe, consensual sex.
