Architecture
We believe that design is a form of responsibility. Our teaching and research confront architecture’s central question: how to build equitably in a rapidly warming world.
We approach buildings as climatic, social, and material agents—decarbonising practice, engaging Country, respecting contexts and communities and innovatively transforming design and construction cultures across Australia and the Indo-Pacific.
Our diverse activities are animated by a passionate belief that architecture can be an agent of change—shaping a world that is more just, sustainable, and beautiful.
Our academic work concentrates across five areas:
- Urbanisation across the Indo-Pacific
- Climate and spatial justice
- Decarbonisation and material reuse
- Housing and suburbia
- Country and Indigenous knowledge
We offer undergraduate and graduate degrees in Architecture and Urban Planning and Design that engage Melbourne, Greater Australia, and the Indo-Pacific as living laboratories for impactful design research.
