This guest lecture is presented by Bucholz McEvoy Architects.
Karen McEvoy and Merritt Bucholz co-founded Bucholz McEvoy Architects in Dublin in 1996, and in 2005 Merritt founded and led the School of Architecture at the University of Limerick (SAUL) where he is Professor of Architecture. Bucholz McEvoy Architects creates durable and climate-resilient architecture that is inherently oriented to enhancing human experience. Carefully crafted, site specific, optimising natural daylight and ventilation, its architecture is fine-tuned to its use and its particular micro-climate. Its ethos is based on collaborative practice, embedding concepts of energy reduction, based on a careful analysis of use of space, and well-researched construction technology for each step of the design process, enablers in developing sustainable, beautiful and resilient architecture.
The Department of Architecture Guest Lecture Series presents diverse guests who visit us to talk, teach and research the complexities of architecture today.
