Work in Progress Exhibition

09/10/2026 10:00 am 09/13/2026 04:00 pm Australia/Melbourne Work in Progress Exhibition

Join us for an exhibition by Monash Architecture students at Abbotsford Convent.

Work in Progress is a dynamic exhibition showcasing first-year Monash Architecture student work, featuring posters, models, and dioramas that explore the experimental nature of the architectural design process. Celebrating creativity, learning-by-doing and the power of imagination in architectural education.

This exhibition emerges from a desire to celebrate the imagination and creativity of first-year Monash Architecture students. In their very first semester of architectural education, students are encouraged to explore design as an experimental process - one that values iteration, making, and reflection as much as final outcomes. What drove us to make this work public is the recognition that architecture is not only about buildings, but also about the ways ideas are tested, communicated, and shared. The exhibition invites audiences to witness the diversity and curiosity of student outcomes at the very beginning of their architectural journey.

The Exhibition is free entry, but please register your spot for the opening event on 9 September.

Work in Progress is open 10am to 4pm on Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September.
