Dr Timothy Moore

Timothy Moore is a director of Sibling Architecture, lecturer of architecture at Monash University, and the co-curator of Melbourne Design Week presented by the National Gallery of Victoria.

At Sibling, Timothy has overseen its design-research practice, which has seen Sibling exhibit at the National Gallery of Victoria, Istanbul Design Biennial, Gyeonggi MoMA and the São Paulo Architecture Biennial, and receive the 2019 Victorian Architecture Awards Small Project commendation for the project New Agency. Through Sibling, he has provided foresight, strategic design and architectural works for leading commercial and cultural institutions and organisations, including Creative Victoria, FJM Property, City of Melbourne and VICE.

Timothy also works as a researcher at Monash University's XYX Lab, which explores gender-sensitive design practices and theory where he has contributed to exhibitions, publications, events and advocacy that investigates the intersections of sexuality, gender and architecture.

Prior to joining Sibling, Timothy worked as a project director for Right Angle Studio developing architectural and communication strategies for urban regeneration sites across Australia. This influenced Timothy to complete a PhD entitled The Instruments of Transitional Urbanism that looks at temporary architectural projects within long-term urban development, which is explored further in his current research at Monash and at Sibling.

Timothy has also worked at architecture offices in Melbourne, Amsterdam and Berlin, and as an editor for three influential magazines, Volume and Architecture Australia and Future West (Australian Urbanism). Timothy is widely published in architectural magazines and journals, and speaks widely at architecture conferences and in the media.
