Card Play Space

Card Art Space was a project undertaken in partnership with Artplay, a childrens' art centre in Melbourne. The project ran over three years as part of the semester 1 foundation year design studio program, introducing new architecture students to Design Make from the outset of their studies.
The project challenged students to design and make a children's learning and play space using a limited amount of corrugated cardboard sheets and a small budget for mechanical fixings. Students were encouraged to avoid the use of glue.
At the end of the lifespan of each of the installations at Artplay, the material was simply recycled.
