Amy Killen
Amy Killen is a Teaching Fellow in the Department of Design and a researcher with the Design Health Collab at Monash University. She currently coordinates DGN1000, a flagship first-year program that brings together design students from Spatial, Communication, Industrial, and Collaborative Design, fostering a shared foundation of skills, language, and practice in their first semester of study.
Amy's research is highly interdisciplinary and collaborative, engaging with clients such as Metro Trains Melbourne, the World Health Organisation, Turning Point, and Monash Health. Her work has been recognised by esteemed organisations, including the Good Design Awards, the Premier’s Design Awards, and the Design Institute of Australia.
Amy is currently focused on identifying and enhancing opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, with a particular interest in how diverse design perspectives can be integrated to tackle complex social, health, and infrastructural challenges in more holistic and sustainable ways.
