Design and Architecture studio workshops
Calling all Year 10 - 12 students - get hands-on with Design and Architecture at Monash!
Join us and get hands-on in our Architecture and Design workshops at Monash Art, Design and Architecture this September.
Explore the Monash Caulfield campus and get a taste of what it's like to study with us, as part of our creative community.
If you're thinking about studying Design, check out our Design session below. It will give you the opportunity to explore user-centred design processes and thinking.
If you're considering studying Architecture, join the Architecture session where you'll learn more about the architectural studio environment, which is an integral part of studying Architecture with us.
We're running each session twice; a session in the morning and a repeat session in the afternoon, so you have the choice of picking the session times that best suits you.

Workshop Program
Design Project: form, function, fun
27 September, 10am –12.30pm or 1pm – 3.30pm (repeat session)
In this workshop we'll help you understand the importance of considering 'who' is the ultimate user of our designs.
Whether it's a space, a product or a website, understanding how designers engage with the needs of their end-user is vitally important.
Through a fun, participatory and collaborative workshop, you'll generate a design outcome that answers the needs of your end-user and then demonstrate to others how it meets that brief.
Architecture Making Workshop 1
27 September, 10am –12.30pm or 1pm – 3.30pm (repeat session)
Discover how we teach our students to put architectural ideas to work. In this workshop, we'll introduce you to what it is like to be an architecture student through a series of making activities in our studio spaces.
We run multiple workshops each year and they're designed to build on one another through different materials and prompts. So whether you've already joined us for a session before or not, you'll have a unique experience.
Join us to:
- Experience the architecture studio environment
- Explore materials, scale, site and other architectural considerations
- Meet our exceptional architectural staff
We'll also include a short tour of our architecture spaces during the workshop.
You must not come to campus if you're unwell or a household contact of someone who has tested positive for COVID-19.
Please note -
- Please only register for the times and workshops you will be attending.
- Both Design and Architecture workshops will run repeat sessions on the day so please only register once for each discipline workshop.
- For students attending both sessions, we will be providing some light lunch (optional) or you are welcome to try some of the food providers around the university. Please also bring your own water bottle on the day.
