The Great Birrarung Parkland

03/25/2023 11:00 am 03/25/2023 12:30 pm Australia/Melbourne The Great Birrarung Parkland

Nature is the greatest designer, the unseen hand that has formed our landscape over millennia. The Birrarung (Yarra River) is recognised as a single living entity, is one of these hands, and lives, breathes and supports the life of the community. In return, its life has been supported by the custodianship of Traditional Owners for thousands and thousands of years.

From the upper reaches of the catchment, passing through forests and farmlands, to residential and industrial areas, and finally entering Port Phillip Bay. A waterway brimming with life—a young river with a long history.

Come join panellists Uncle Dave Wandin (Birrarung Council Council member and Wurundjeri Woi-wurrung representative) and representatives from the Birrarung Council, Melbourne University, RMIT and Monash University as they explore the concept of the Great Birrarung Parkland and discuss ideas on how we can change the way we view and value our river.
